Enabling 4g on an old Sony Xperia L1

With 3g shutdown in mind EE recently texted me with 2 easy steps to switch to 4g.. Step one is to set Network Mode to 4g. Step two  is to switch on 4g Calling. I found the first one under Preferred Network Type (as there is no Network Mode option) but cannot find the second one. The terminology seems to be aimed at newer devices. I feel as though Ii have done half a job but don't know what to do next. Thank you..Ged.....

According to https://www.gsmarena.com/sony_xperia_l1-8619.php (GSM Arena is usually a reliable resource), the XPeria L1 supports 4G Bands 1, 3, 7 & 20 which are required for EE data use.

Without VoLTE however, Band 20 won't work.

If the 4G-calling option cannot be located, your voice calls will fallback to 2G whilst data will be carried over 4G.

Thank you Maestro for the quick response.

@GedM  As that’s only a 2G/3G device, you will not find those settings on that device.  The device isn’t capable of 4G.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.
