Re: Signal booster?

My daughters live in an area with very little mobile signal outside the house.  They do use Wifi calling but they had an incident at their house they other day.  Someone came and attempted to steal a neighbours car.  They used a wifi jammer to disrupt the feed from the wifi cctv.  Their house alarm sounded when it detected the wifi going down.  Hence, they were woken but unable to make a wifi call.

I've advised them to get a VoIP landline number from their broadband provider which they are doing.  They can then make phone calls using a phone plugged into the back of the router.  I'd also like them to install a Femtocell in the house plugged into the router so they can make mobile calls without wifi.  Do you still install Femtocells?  I've seen plenty being sold on Ebay. Thanks

Hi @Ross030568

Thanks for coming here 🙂

I am sorry to hear this.

The EE signal boxes have been replaced by the WiFi Calling service.

If the contracts are in your name and you would like to discuss the signal and what options are available please call us on 150.

Leanne.

The Femtocells you're referring to, are effectively 3G microcells that use your home broadband to backhaul to EE's core network. As part of 3G switchoff, these devices are now legacy and WiFi-calling has been the preferred solution for indoor coverage issues for many years now.

I'm not surprised that these are for sale on auction sites to otherwise unsuspecting buyers.
