My data don’t seem to be working just showing an E I have data left unsure why it won’t work and u need it for my job

@Jpeat1234  The E is short for Edge.  This is a network connection that’s just up from 2G. It’s basically 2.5G.  It’s not suitable for doing anything that’s Internet data required.      Have you tried restarting the device?   It could be a local mast has an issue but 2G actually travels further so you might be connecting to a mast that’s miles away from your location.  You can use THIS to check the status in your location.  You need  to click the “Check Service Status” tab

As per the previous message, E indicates a 2G connection which is only usable for voice or text service. The coverage from a particular site is not dictated by the technologies (or "G") in use, but by the frequencies deployed, and there's usually sufficient overlap in urban areas for alternate 4G coverage to be usable from alternate sites.

As a first-step, try toggling flight mode before checking the local service status.
