EE 4G dreadful at Clapham Junction

Just been out through clapham today, twice. Took 2 speedtests at different times on the platforms.

This was it at 09:32

And at 16:38, not even a speedtest would work, let alone an imessage send.

Is anyone else having this sort of experience there? And more importantly, does anyone have a crystal ball and could tell me if EE are planning an upgrade here? It seems like it needs one. I was also under the impression they were putting a DAS there

Out of interest, did you make a note of which bands/carriers you were using?

Hi @DJW-20

Are you on EE PAYG or pay monthly contract.

Looks like you're connected to 4G only.

Try restarting your device.

Thanks

PM

PAYM on an essentials max plan. My device doesn’t support 5G but it still falls below what is expected from EE 4g.

When I upgrade in September/October we can retest that

Performed a manual roam when there, that has basically the same effect

Hi @DJW-20

What device as it must be old to not have a 5G radio. If you're on 4G only you maybe limited to certain frequencies hence the speed.

Thanks

This is not a scenario caused by the user being on 4G, and thus 5G being the fix

A 4G-device is capable of speeds much greater than quoted here.
