Over the past few months, our engineers have been continuing legal negotiations with the site provider. As part of the negotiations, we have been working on a power supply agreement for how the mast will be powered once built. Pending a positive outcome from the legal steps and a power supply has been agreed, we can start building the equipment needed for the new mast and confirm an approximate on-air date.

Over the past few weeks, our engineers have had planning permission for the mast and have started legal steps to legally acquire the land from the site provider. Once all legal steps have been completed, we can start building the equipment needed for the new mast and confirm an approximate on-air date for the new mast.

Update: 06 October 2023

Over the past few months, our engineers have accessed the new location and completed surveys for the planning permission and submitted these for approval. Barring any unforeseen delays, we expect to have a decision for the planning permission by the middle of December. Pending a positive outcome, we will start building the equipment needed for the new mast and confirm an approximate on-air date for the new mast.

Update: 22 June 2023

Over the past few months, our engineers have been negotiating planning permission to start building the equipment for the new mast. Unfortunately, due to circumstances out of our control, the area will no longer be suitable for the equipment and the planning permission has been rejected.  

The site provider has provided an alternative area that may be more suitable for the equipment and our engineers will complete surveys of the area and submit these for approval. Pending a positive outcome from the surveys, we will start building the equipment needed for the new mast and confirm an approximate on-air date for the new mast.

Update: 20 April 2023

Over the past few weeks, the council have approved planning permission for the new mast, and legal steps have started to legally acquire the land from the site provider. We expect all legal steps to be completed by the end of May, barring any unforeseen delays. Once we have legally acquired the land, we can start building the equipment needed for the new mast and confirm an approximate on-air date for the mast.

Over the past few months, our engineers have completed drawings of the area and surveys for build to start as soon as we have a decision from the council on planning permission. We expect to have a decision by the end of March. Pending a positive outcome, we can start building the equipment needed for the new mast and confirm an approximate on-air date.

Over the past few weeks the requested site designs have been approved, as part of the planning permission our engineers have been requested to complete drawings for the area and will submit these for approval once completed. We expect to have the designs completed and submitted for approval by the end of November. Pending a positive outcome from the designs, we will start legal proceedings to legally acquire the land from the landowner and start building the equipment needed for the new mast.

Our engineers have been working with the site provider to access the area and complete further surveys that have been required from the landowner to make sure the area will be suitable for the equipment. Barring any unforeseen delays, we expect our engineers to access the area and complete the additional surveys by the end of September, once completed the surveys will be submitted for approval.

Pending a positive outcome, we can start legal proceedings to acquire the land from the landowner and start building the equipment needed for the new mast.

Over the past week, our engineers have visited the site to complete the required surveys, to assess if the land will be suitable for the equipment. Barring any unforeseen delays, we expect to have an outcome from the surveys by the end of July. Over the past few months, our engineers have located an area for the new mast and are currently working with the landowner to visit the site and complete surveys to make sure the area is suitable for the equipment. We’ve tentatively scheduled these for the first week of July, pending landowner approval.

 

Pending a positive, outcome from the surveys we can start legal proceedings to acquire the land from the landowner and start building the equipment needed for the mast.

Over the past few months our engineers have completed surveys at the site, and we have found the location is not going to suitable for the equipment. We have started looking for new locations for the mast.

 

Once an area has been located, we will carry out the required surveys to assess if the land will be suitable for the equipment needed.

Our engineers have been unable to access the site over the past few weeks to complete the surveys.

 

We are currently in negotiations with the site provider to arrange a date to carry out the surveys and make sure the land is going to be suitable for the equipment. Once all surveys have been completed, we can start legal proceedings to acquire the land from the landowner.

Our engineers have located a new area for the mast to be installed, and we are currently carrying out surveys on the site to make sure the area will be suitable for the equipment. We expect all surveys to be completed by the end of November.

 

If the area is suitable for the new mast, we can begin legal steps to acquire the land from the landowner.

Update: 01 July 2021

 

Over the past few months our engineers have been carrying out surveys and working on design specifications on the area we had located for the new mast. Unfortunately, we have found the area is not going to be suitable for the equipment and have had to halt progress, we are now looking for a new site location.

 

Once we have found a new site location, we can complete the legal steps and required surveys to make sure the area will be suitable for the new mast. Once this stage is complete, we will update this post with an estimated installation date for the new mast.

Over the past few months our engineers have been sourcing the equipment needed for the new mast, and working with the site owner to gain access to the area to build the equipment and integrate the mast onto the network. We are on track to have the mast on air by Summer 2021, barring any unforeseen delays.

Over the past few months, our engineers have started building the equipment needed for the new mast. Unfortunately, because of circumstances out of our control during 2020, we’ve been delayed with integrating the mast onto the network. We expect the mast to be on air by summer 2021.

Our engineers have started building the new mast in the area. They are in the process of setting up the equipment and then we can start integrating this onto the network. We expect the mast to be on air by the end of the year.

 

Once the mast is live it will ease congestion, providing increased coverage in the town centre and surrounding area.

Planning permission for the new mast in the area has been approved and, over the past few weeks, our engineers have started building the new mast. Once the equipment is in place, we can move forward with integrating this onto the network.

Our engineers have been looking at locations for a new mast due to congestion on the existing mast, in Malton. We’ve located an area for the mast to be installed, which will improve coverage in the area.

 

Once planning permission has been approved, we’ll work as fast as possible to get the new equipment in place.

We’re aware that some customers in Malton are experiencing a degraded service.

 

This is due to congestion on our local site in Malton. We are looking at ways we can improve signal in the area, and we will update this post when we have further information.

 

In the meantime, if you’re an EE pay monthly customer with a compatible phone you can use WiFi Calling to make and receive calls and texts over a WiFi connection.

Hi any update on the new mast ,?? The signal is getting worse and other local mast as constantly faulty. Also will the new mast location benefit the town centre

Just spoke to EE , question was how long to build a new mast in malton??

A, been doing since early 2020, not really an answer is it.

Just got a new O2 sim card so got 12 days to sort out or im off, looking round on here it says up to xmas, still taking our money tho, Vodafone and o2 are exellent

Hi this is good and bad news, I resigned my contract  With ee thinking this would have been done now its delayed again. 

 

Have we a location on the new mast with into the town to see if its going to be a benefit. I have check local planning application data base and can not see any for a mast in the area .

Have you tried the local BT exchange roof?? Or micro cells on street posts.

 

Lots of options available even a temporary mast could be installed to assist

I have noticed you have enabled band 7 4g on one of the 3 masts in the area. This has made some difference in Norton, would it be possible to mention this to your network teams of this would be possible at the two masts in Malton? Also if doing band 3, 7  and 20 where there is a known capacity issue why not band 1 as well?

 

As to mast locations I know I am no expert but the main signal issues are in the town centres why not use the BT exchange in the centre of town??

 

This has the backhawl fibre, power and height?
