Update: 11 December 2025
Over the past few weeks, our engineers have installed the microwave link needed for the transmission and integrated the mast onto the network. The new mast is now on-air, and to further improve coverage to the area, our engineers will be completing upgrades on the mast to increase capacity and improve service in Great Blakenham. We expect all work to completed by the end of next week.
We will continue to monitor performance in the area.
Update: 10 November 2025
Over the past few weeks, the power company has accessed the site and installed the power supply needed for the new mast. Our engineers will be completing surveys in the next week to make sure the equipment will be suitable for a microwave link to be installed, to supply transmission to the mast. Pending a positive outcome from the surveys, we can confirm an approximate on-air date for the new mast.
We will keep you updated on this post
Update: 22 October 2025
Our engineers are working with the power company to arrange a date to access the area and install the power supply and transmission needed for the new mast. Once the power supply has been installed, we can start integrating the mast onto the network.
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we expect all work to be completed and the mast to be on-air by the end of 2025.
We will keep you updated on this post.
We are in the process of replacing a mast in the Great Blakenham area as the current lease has expired.
Our engineers have completed building the equipment for the new mast. The next step is for power and transmission to be installed. Once complete, we will be able to share an approximate on-air date.
We'll update this post once we have more information.
We’re sorry for any inconvenience. In the meantime, you might be able to use Wi-Fi Calling to make and receive calls and texts.

It has been over a week now being unable to call or receive calls at my home address. It is beyond poor that no updates are being posted and no dates given where I might actually be able to use my EE mobile phone to make a call!!!!

Just for info - I put in a complaint to EE and they have been trying to contact me to discuss - but obviously cannot speak to me as I have no signal. (The irony!)
anyway - here’s the latest response I have had.
thanks for the reply back, When a decommissioning request comes in, our team must act quickly to remove the mast by the date specified by whoever requested it (private landowner or relevant authority).
The company does not proactively inform customers about decommissioning events.
Notifications through “Keep Me Posted” only cover planned work and out-of-service masts, not decommissioning.
on the 10th of november there was another update on the system:
Over the past few weeks, the power company has accessed the site and installed the power supply needed for the new mast. Our engineers will be completing surveys in the next week to make sure the equipment will be suitable for a microwave link to be installed, to supply transmission to the mast. Pending a positive outcome from the surveys, we can confirm an approximate on-air date for the new mast. this was the last update on the Great Blakenham and Claydon community page, where there is no date penciled in for the new mass, please could you let me know, who and where you seen that the mass was going to be finished by the end of the year.
As mentioned in my previous email regarding the situation, we kindly ask that you complete the following steps first. If these steps do not resolve the issue, we can then look into compensation options.
To proceed with the steps and compensation options, we’ll need to speak with you over the phone. Do you have an alternative contact number, such as a landline or a different network number, that we can reach you on?

If you have a WiFi router in your home, then WiFi-calling should resolve this.

Are there any updates on the survey results and the approximate on-air mast date following a positive outcome which you advised should have happened by now?

"We’re sorry for any inconvenience. In the meantime, you might be able to use Wi-Fi Calling to make and receive calls and texts"
What if you don't have wifi? I don't !
No calls, no data, no wifi, no landline. I'm completely cut off.
No 4g signal since early October ~ it's now 22nd November!!
No update since 10th November, when you promised a date for the signal coming back. But... STILL NO DATE!
What's going on now?!

we you really need to get your act together this is terrible customer service still no date when are they going to turn on the mast or are you just going to come up with more excuses

It’s shocking to read that they were aware of the decommissioning of the current mast and didn’t put something in place sooner. I’m lucky enough to connect via WiFi at home but as soon as I leave I loose signal, scho

Hello again EE
Obviously there is a communication problem between you and all of us EE mobile users. Your last post was on 10th November stating within the next week you would know if microwave link would work.
As its now nearly 2 weeks gone by, I can only assume the microwave communication failed, hence you were unable to communicate this message to all of us EE users.
It's just under 5 weeks to Christmas & 6 weeks to the New Year. Please can you advise if I will be able to send & receive my greetings messages to friends and family, or that they will all think I'm a Scrooge and have nothing to do with me in the future? I guess it's a bit like EE to all of use!
So EE, please answer the questions:-
1. What is the realistic time scale for completion?
2. What compensation are you giving me for the service that I'm paying for, but not receiving?
