Coverage in Great Blakenham

Christopher_G
EE Community Support Team

Update: 10 November 2025

Over the past few weeks, the power company has accessed the site and installed the power supply needed for the new mast. Our engineers will be completing surveys in the next week to make sure the equipment will be suitable for a microwave link to be installed, to supply transmission to the mast. Pending a positive outcome from the surveys, we can confirm an approximate on-air date for the new mast.

We will keep you updated on this post

Update: 22 October 2025

Our engineers are working with the power company to arrange a date to access the area and install the power supply and transmission needed for the new mast. Once the power supply has been installed, we can start integrating the mast onto the network.

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we expect all work to be completed and the mast to be on-air by the end of 2025.

We will keep you updated on this post.

We are in the process of replacing a mast in the Great Blakenham area as the current lease has expired.

Our engineers have completed building the equipment for the new mast. The next step is for power and transmission to be installed. Once complete, we will be able to share an approximate on-air date.

We'll update this post once we have more information.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience. In the meantime, you might be able to use Wi-Fi Calling to make and receive calls and texts.

This is poor customer service. My signal is poor now and non-existent in my house. When will it be resolved and why were we not warned of the impact. Why pay for something that doesn’t work!

Hello @JaneG14 ,

Welcome to the community,

EE cannot be held responsible for the signal in your house, as that depends on the construction of the house and what may be making it difficult to get a signal, that is why there is wifi calling on all modern phones.

As for how the signal is outside can also have some factors, but then sometimes networks do have to take down a mast and move it or they may need to repair them, and that can depend on why and what, so this is why EE community staff have placed it in the forums, so that you do know what is going on.

If you register, report you can receive updates from here:

You will be kept up to date and can register up to three places where you are most likely to be, so you are kept up to date.

Are you expecting everyone to still pay for a service you are not providing? How will we be compensated? I have no signal in my home and haven’t done for the past week.

I appreciate EE cannot be held responsible for signal in my home, but it did work and now it doesn't and as nothing else has changed, it must be the reduced signal intensity.

As a service provider there should be no gaps in service - leases and renewals are planned in advance.

Do you have broadband at home? If you do, you are partway to a solution to your in-home issues.

very funny... if you click through to get in touch it says call... no phone signal

I do - but that is not what I pay for. I pay for a service for my mobile and I am not receiving the service I am paying for
