Calls to complete huawei security not available from This network

Hello

I tried to set up my huawei smart watch today. Part of the process to set up the account involves huawei sending you a text then you call a 6 didget number. The trouble is a message tells me "Calls to this number are not being connected if you have dialed correctly  it means calls to this number are not available on This network"

Can anyone please explain why this is and what I need to do to complete the huawei security process?

Many thanks in advance

@John_Rebus You want to ignore the fact that the number is a hyperlink. Browsers and e-mail clients sometimes try to be too helpful and turn numbers with sufficient digits into tel:// links when nobody asked them to do that.

With your device being a Huawei, the chances are that the message is in some form of Chinglish and means something totally different to what you or I might assume.

PS: Thanks for the whereabouts. Gill Templer was asking where you were...

Are you sure you have to call that 6-digit number? Usually, when you get sent a code like that, you have to enter it in a form somewhere to prove that you have control of the device that it was sent to.

Hey,

Thanks for replying

The message reads

"Huawei: ******. To set a security phone number."

The numbers are underlined and in blue

Yea WiFi calling is on

P.s. I'm away to the Oxford Bar if anyone is looking for me 😉

Thanks once again to grsdev, you were on the money. The 6 didget number was a code.

There are 2 options when setting up the watch email or phone number. Phone number was straight forward.

Hope this helps someone else who falls into this pit.

Meanwhile... drinks in the back room of the Oxford bar 👍
