Can someone point me in the direction of the best Antenna for the 5gee router I got delivered today, EE tell me they don't sell one to go with it?!

depending on the router some of them can have the availability to have an external antenna ordered think they use a contractor to install the equipment, for which you have to pay £100 as a off of installment fee but they will send an engineer out to do check before you  commit if you got the option to have one done

I get similar performance outside to what I get inside. I guess my question, therefore, is "Might an external antenna improve my performance or reliability given my performance is roughly the same regardless of whether my router is indoors or outdoors?".

I use 4G Broadband out here in the sticks, and have bought a Nedis LPDA setup from Amazon.  Very directional ..!

So my original thread took on quite a life!

For the last week my box has suddenly stopped picking up 5g.

I still get 4g but no blue light for 5g.

Nothing has changed and everything looks normal to me.

What would anyone suggest to do to check what is wrong. Or what to replace.

I originally was supplied with the Panorama antenna provided by TSG - they eventually managed to squeeze 50Mbps out of the installation ! - Over the course of the next 6 weeks the signal was eratic and reverted to 4G on many occassions requiring the router to be restarted. On raising the issue with EE they said that I was on the edge of 5G covereage (despite their coverage map showing differently) - I finally spoke to Panorama who advised me that  the  antenna provided is not particularily suited for the EE 5G Smart Hub as it requires 4 connections not two !

I then decided to purchase the PANORAMA 4X4 MIMO 4G/5G ANTENNA (DWMM4-6-60), stuck it up on a more suitable pole which made all the difference - I am now constantly obtaining 600Mbps +

EE / TSG seriously have no idea what they are selling / providing !!375510614_290331273717895_4325269301188016468_n.jpg371977639_846569216880582_5280787058677324726_n.jpg

I've bought a DWMM4-6-60-5SP. My download and upload speeds are similar using this antenna in the window (per the picture) to using the internal antenna - roughly 40Mbps down and 10Mbps up. I've no idea if I've connected the correct cables into the correct sockets - I've just plugged the cables labelled 1 to 4 in from top to bottom.

When I hold the antenna outside at bedroom window level, it goes up to roughly 150Mbps down. I'm getting it mounted on a pole above the roof next week - hopefully will improve further up there...

Hi
Adding the antenna is a great step forward... Regarding the cable from the antenna - They should be labelled A-B-C-D
They are connected in pairs to the 5G Router top to bottom. A-B at the top and C-D at the bottom. They are paired for maximum reception depending on the polarization of the signal received - This optimises reception in varying conditions.
Putting it outside on a pole will make things so much better. Although the antenna is Omni-Directional pointing it at the local cell-site (if you know where it is – EE should be able to assist) will make a hell of a difference.
Let us know how you get on ....

I will report back. I'm completely ignorant about this kind of tech. The mast is 700 metres as the crow flies from my house. With the antenna I've bought, given I'm roughly 700m from the mast labelled as "eNB ID 10041 (Macro) - LTE" on the cellmapper.net website, is there any way of estimating what kinds of download speeds might be realistically achievable?

The Mast you have quoted does not appear to be 5G Enabled, if you PM me your Post Cade I may be able to assist further on possible Antenna Directions.

Have PM'd you, @EssexBoyEE .

Here is a screenshot of my current status. I'm a similar direction from "eNB ID 11017 (Macro) - LTE".

Weirdly, when I put the antenna in the window that faces the direction of "eNB ID 11017 (Macro) - LTE", it consistently connects to "eNB ID 10041 (Macro) - LTE", however when I put it in the window that faces in the direction of "eNB ID 10041 (Macro) - LTE", it consistently connects to "eNB ID 11017 (Macro) - LTE"!
