Would I be right in thinking this will fit it ?

https://www.forestrock.co.uk/product/qupanel-lte-mimo-4x4/

In a word, No, this Antenna is not compatable with your Router it doesn't cover the correct Frequency's for the UK.

Also this is a 4x4 Mimo Antenna, most LTE Routers are 4X4 but only have External Ports for 2x2 Mimo External Aerials, do you happen to know how many Antenna Ports/ Plugs on the Router? per chance.

Normally I would Recommend 4/5G Antennas made by Poynting, Huawei or Panorama, plus a few more for Specialist Directional Applications, but TBH ive never heard of Forestrock where did you dig them up from? probably a Rebadge of something.

Post up your 5G Router model you have or as much info as possible and we can move forward a bit more towards your requirements.

Thanks for the reply its the 5GEE Router 2021 latest one on the EE website

Sticker on the bottom just says: 5GEE Router

And it does have 4 antenna ports on the back so was actually thinking this one:

https://quwireless.com/product/QuPanel-5G-LTE-MIMO-4x4

What do you reckon to that?

Is there no Model Number on the Router? not to worry, I going to assume the Router is the EE Locked Down version of the Zyxel if it has 4 External Antenna Ports, as a few of Zyxel Router 5G have.

The second link you have posted for the Antenna ( QuPanel-5G-LTE-MIMO-4x4 ) does look as though it covers the UK 5G Frequencies (N78) and looking at the Data Spec there does seem to be some confusion as to whether it covers EE's new 5G 700mhz Band (N28) but it does state it covers this Band on 4G (LTE), so assuming each of the 4 Antennas and Feeders within the Unit are the same spec then it should cover the 5G Band N28.

Also, it looks like the Coax Feeder Plugs on the above Aerial are SMA Type, so if they are, your probably going to need 4 x Adaptors to suit the Router Antenna Sockets, Im not sure what they are on the Router but if I was to hazard a guess probably TS9 Type, probably best to wait and see when the Antenna is delivered to double check, if you decide to go down this route.

Other than that I have not come across the above make of 5G 4x4 Mimo Aerial before, other than they are based in Poland, so Im not in a position to comment on the Aerials build quality and its working performance or compare it to my recommendations in my first Post, so if you do decide on this one perhaps let us know your thoughts of it.

Thanks will let you know how I get on with it

Hi Simon,

Did you buy that antenna and if so has it worked?

Not that helpful EE don’t sell a compatible antenna or point you to where to buy one.
Thanks,

Adam.

For info, EE do an external antenna install service via 0800 079 0131.

They then sub the install out to TSG.  My problem is that the external antenna has two cables (that needed adaptors to be supplied), but the modem has 4 connections.  I'm struggling to confirm which 2 of the 4 should be used.  Any help would be gratefully received.

Hi yes the antenna works perfectly

I was getting only 8mbps down and 1mbps upload with my old 4g one

and am now getting between 35-70 mbps down and 30 odd upload, it connects to 5g most of the time and if not picking it up switches automatically to 4g. I'm right in the middle of no where and on the edge of the 5g signal and can't get 5g with just my phone so the antenna is great

That’s really great to know, thanks for confirming will prefer one now.

Did they supply an antenna with TS9 rather than SMA, or did you have to buy adapters separately?
Thanks,

Adam.
