Hi there,
My Vodafone PAYM contract is coming to the end of its minimum term in a few months and I am looking at various options as I’m going to retain my handset (iPhone 12 Pro)….
As a few EE based MVNO’s have launched 5G on their PAYG services, I was wondering if there way any word on EE doing the same themselves?
Thanks

Thumbs up for 1pmobile from me. They are doing 5G on EE with 200Gb data pack for £20 a month currently.

Did you know u can add another boost to add extra 200GB for £20 to make it 400GB for £40 a month from 1p mobile if you using it for home broadband (without contract) using your own 5G router. Cheaper than BT and EE G.fast 146Meg/30Meg as 1p mobile 5G can do 350-450Meg / 50-80Meg for £40 a month (400GB)

Yes you can add as many boosts as you want I think. Although if you are using that quantity of data in a month there are other better valur options available. Have a look for "Scancom Sim" on Amazon. They have several options including a reasonably price paid upfront (but not prepay) EE 5G data sim that works out costing around £12 a month for unlimited data

Chris: You can get faster data generally. Use data in a busy area such as at a festival more reliably. (obviously this is only applicable if you havent subscribed to one of EEs rate limited 5G plans which negate most of the advantages of 5G completely)
Or from EEs very own promotional website:
"5G is fast. Faster than anything you've seen before, with bigger capacity and more connections – even in the busiest of places.
With superfast speeds, quicker downloads and better quality streaming, you can access the content you love on the go.
Plus, with 5G connectivity in all major cities, you can stream videos at higher resolution, enjoy better quality video calls and download films in seconds"

I have just got EE sim, and I cannot find words to describe how disappointed I am to find out that EE does not offer 5G for it's PAYG customers. I have a regret of leaving Three, I will be switching back to them.

EE PAYG is also rate limited to 25Mbps. Pretty much every other network has a much better offering.
If it's signal and capacity that made you mover to EE take a look at the other networks that piggyback on EE's network. There is one that is cheaper and offers 5G on a PAYG basis. I don't think I can mention the name here without being moderated though!

EE don’t want customers on pay and go, you can see this from the way they offer the packages, no 5G and also no access to the 800mhz band, that increases rural coverage.
you’d be better off with another provider who use EE if you must use EE.. alternatively consider Smarty for cost.

PAYG customers do have access to VoLTE which is the gatekeeper for B20-800Mhz.
But you're correct to identify that EE's business approach to PAYG is different to that of other operators.
