Hi. I used to consistently get a 5G signal at home but now me and my Wife who are both on the EE network only get 4G.
Are EE actually downgrading some areas from 5G contrary to the stated expansion plans.
Our SIM packages are all 5G and we have recent iPhones that receive 5G elsewhere.
Thanks

5G coverage is not being actively removed - to do so would be counter-productive on several fronts.
There's a few scenarios where "cell edge" coverage may vary, but are you experiencing any service issues? Are calls, texts & data working as expected?
There may also be a local fault causing an issue with the 5G bands locally to you - use the "check status" option on https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile-coverage-checker

Yes, since the change, even phone call quality is poor and outside, data is poor if not connected to Wi Fi. The coverage map has been changed to say we are not covered by 5G whereas previously we were so we have been downgraded which is disappointing especially as we are in a rural area. I have 3 lines and FTTP Broadband but it looks like I may need to change supplier as EE have downgraded our area.

Irrespective of which "G" is providing coverage, call quality should not be poor. Use the "report a problem" link on the status tool I linked to previously.

Hi @RCripps,
Welcome to the Community!
I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with your connection, as this absolutely isn't what we'd expect to hear. We do offer WiFi Calling if you are in an area where the signal isn't the best, but I understand this may be frustrating if your signal was stronger previously. I would recommend reaching out to our team, and they will be able to take a look into what has happened, and shed more light on this situation.
