I recently purchased a Moto G55 G5 Android phone to take advantage of 5G coverage. However, I'm still getting the 4G symbol in the top right hand corner of the phone. Why?
Phone is running Android 15. I've gone into Settings and made sure Vo5G is on. Toggled airplane mode on and off. Restarted the phone. But no luck.
My contract was taken out 14 June 21. Pay monthly.

RAT = Radio Access Technology.
Most users refer to it as individual "G"
I would certainly concur with the suggestion of trying your SIM in a known working phone, and your phone with a known working SIM. An EE retail store should be able to assist with this, if options to ask a friend or relative are not available.
Also FYI - you have a short time after posting to edit, negating the need for multiple short replies.
