Why is 4g so rubbish lately and bills going up for a really bad connection  ??

What do you mean by "a really bad connection" - can you explain the problems you're having?

All my apps take ages to load or don't even load

Does VoLTE/4G-calling display when you have these problems?

I totally agree. I raised this with EE to be told there is no problem in my area. Recently the signal has deteriorated and it’s a very frustrating experience trying to use any kind of data based service. I’ve also noticed a general deterioration in signal quality while travelling. If indeed there is no problem then I think the logical conclusion is that EE have turned down the power output of their masts.

Is it the same places that you're travelling through that you have the problems? How are you travelling?

There is certainly no intentional powering-down of transmit power with the sole purpose of reducing coverage.

There's quite a few other variables that could potentially cause these symptoms, though.
