Hi @madusmacus

I'd recommend checking for problems in your area using the Network & Coverage Tool.

Put in your postcode and choose your phone model, then click 'Check Status'.

Thanks,
Alex

I have been doing that daily and its always reports perfect

its really strange because i could get 100mb on 4g on my galaxy fold 4 but now days signal is mainly RSRP -115Screenshot_20230705_180317_Network Cell Info Lite.jpg at best

strange this has started hapinging since march when i renewed my phone subscription (Sure this is just coincidence) :¬)

The coverage checker tool has two tabs - "check coverage" for predicted service, and "check status" for fault reporting. It sounds like you've been using "check coverage".

Which band/EARFCN were you connected to, when coverage was perceivably better? That may partly explain the symptoms.

nope i have been doing both for weeks

(Check Coverage)
Always shows good in and out green Box

(Check Status)
No known problems in ME14
Network should be fine here.
If you're having problems, flag it up and we'll investigate.

So this is why i am asking here and why i added image of my tower and signal which is very poor

Have you used the "report a problem" link?

My next step in this scenario would be to compare the before & after EARFCN/carriers in use. EE operate 4G services across multiple frequency bands, each with their own coverage characteristics.

That's one of several variables that could cause these symptoms. Local optimisation relating to 3G-switchoff is another possibility.

not sure i have access to any of that
i get whatever frequency I'm given on galaxy fold 4

(Report A Problem) has no "Signal Strength Bad" Reporting
it only allows text internet voice problems
all of which work but extremely bad

ill have a read up on "compare the before & after EARFCN/carriers"

and maybe i can force a frequency change like i could on a modem i had in the past

Still stuck with sub par service that EE reports as perfectly ok though :¬(

Bit more info below why not :¬)

Perceivably weaker onscreen bars are not, of themselves, any cause for concern. If they cause service issues with calls or mobile data, that can be reported using the appropriate option on the status tool.

EE use Bands 1, 3, 7 & 20 for 4G services, in your screenshots above you're connected to a Band 3 carrier. The EARFCN is a channel number within that band, and on the eNB you're using - this will likely be 1617 or 1761.

That site doesn't appear to have any other bands in use, so to further diagnose the cause of your issue would need knowledge of which band/eNB (site ID) you were connected to previously.

Do you use Android or iOS?

Hi again :¬)

Thanks for the info
good point about the weaker onscreen bars not being an issue
they just look realy bad doing a speed test i get about 40Mbps
its not the 100i used to get but maybe i just get used to it for now

I'm using android on a galaxy fold 4
info derived from "Network Cell Info" and "Cell Mapper" apps

i am connected to the same tower/repeater i always did
It uses Band 3 and 1761
