So I have a 5G plan, I have a google pixel 7a which is 5G and I never get a 5g connection, my misses has a smarty sim and where ever we go she has super fast 5G, I only seem to get 4G and even that is poor, latest speednet test shows 18mbs download speed.
In the very beginning about 2 years ago I did get 5G then EE started "upgrading" their masts and now 5G is a no show!
And EE always boasts on TV and radio how they have the best 5G speed, well I'm getting none!

Speed tests can vary between localities, but if you're consistently not getting 5G service when being covered by 5G-capable-sites, that's a cause for concern.
Check the coverage map on https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile-coverage-checker to ensure 5G coverage should be available in the locations you believe it to be.

Yes According to the graph I am in a 5G area and considering my misses always has 5g at the same location with smarty I'm 100% sure this area is covered and had good coverage.

Smarty is a 3UK virtual, so what your misses - or any other Smarty user - has in that area is irrelevant.
You need to be comparing with another EE user for that test to be valid.

Hey @Madmaniakid.
As @bristolian has mentioned here, the best thing you can do at this stage is try and compare directly with another EE user in the same locations to see if their experience differs.
Another thing you could try here would be putting your SIM in your partner's phone which is known to successfully receive a 5G connection, and her SIM in your phone.
This can help us identify if the issue follows your SIM, or is isolated to that phone.

Why would that make a difference? If there is a strong 5G signal in the area does it matters who the carrier is?
@Peter_W I have put her SIM in my phone and I do get the same strong 5G signal ans speeds as she does so I know my phone is not the problem.
I've not tried my SIM in her phone will try that later on

It matters because all ll you've proven so far is that 3UK have 5G coverage in this area.
If EE have no 5G service in this locality, for whatever reason, then your symptoms are falling into line. And the 2way SIM-swap will give exactly the results you're seeing.
If another EE-5G user gets 5G coverage, then you have either a phone or SIM/account issue... and a 2way SIM-swap will prove which. If another EE-5G user doesn't get 5G coverage, you've proven a lack of EE 5G coverage there.
SIM-swapping with another network still leaves too many crucial variables to prove anything useful.
