Hi,
I ran out of mobile data yesterday and had no wifi. I’m on the discontinued £1 Talk and Text weekly pack. I texted ‘ADD DATA’ to 150 and following the instructions texted ‘500 MB WEEK’. I then got the following message:
“We are removing support for our 3G plans in November 2023 so you will need to change your plan, otherwise you will lose access to mobile data.
Go to https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/manage-use/3g-plan-changes for more info”
My iphone XR shows the ‘4G’ symbol in the top right corner so surely that means I have 4G?
I also tried texting’150 MB WEEK’ and then got a different message:
“Sorry, there has been a problem and we cannot add this add on, please try again later”
Can anyone advise on what is going on here? I’ve been able to do this in the past.
Thanks in advance.

Your phone may very well be 4G but your EE SIM & plan are only 3G. Could you have been on an Orange or T-Mobile plan once?

Thanks, opened the link through another browser and interestingly the add-ons offered there are different to the ones I’m offered from 150. Can that linked be accessed without internet?

I was with EE from the start. Would my phone show 4G at the top of the screen if my sim was 3G?

Thanks! You're welcome 🙂 ! Glad I could be of assistance & trust it is now sorted.
That link can be accessed w/out having access to the Net as it's entirely within EE's network.

Hi @Maria179,
Yes, you can access it when you have used all of your data allowance.
Your SIM is 4G ready if you can see the 4G symbol.
Hope this helps. 🙂
James
