I use a radio app for a foreign radio station and I've been using it for years. It has however just stopped working on my iPhone.
I can still use the App, while connected to WiFi WiFi, or via mobile data, if a VPN is running on my iPhone.
The app will not however work directly over my mobile data.
Anyone know why this might be ? Have EE started blocking certain data types?

Has there been any updates to the radio app?
Are you using a pay monthly or pay as you go SIM?

Hi,
I'm pay monthly.
After further testing, I'm starting to think it's the App itself. I managed intermittently to get it working on WiFi, but most time, it won't kick off, unless my VPN is active to a server that's in the country of the App. I'm not blaming EE ( for now 🙂 ).

Hi @cf-leeds,
Many streaming apps are only licensed to be used in certain regions. It sounds like this is the case with this particular app.

Yeah, I think the app provider might have changed something, as I've been using the app for years and suddenly it behaves differently. I have Express VPN, so will just have to use that when I need to.
I was convinced it was the EE data service, as it was working ok on WiFi and also when using VPN. That was a red-herring however, as the App doesn't work consistently on WiFi either.
