Red nose donation

When I tried to send I get orange circle exclamation mark and when I click it says “could not send message”… there is a record above this from last donation to 70702 that did work. Is there a setting that stops me sending charitable donations?

Hi @GoMacKay,

Welcome to the EE Community

It is possible to put a bar to pay third party companies through your EE bill which would affect charity donation texts. Is it possible you have added this since you last sent one?

If you have only one number on your account you can text UNBAR to 150 to remove that bar if it is active.

With charity donation texts, on top of the donation charge there will usually be a standard network message cost. The cost of the text would fall under your spend cap, the charge from the third party for the donation does not count towards your spend cap.

So if you have a spend cap in place that has been reached, the text may not be going through due to the spend cap blocking the cost of the text message itself rather than the third party bar.

If it is the spend cap you can amend this in your EE online account on the app or website.
