Hi NeilOliver did you get sorted with the data usage issue...I'm exactly the same had a 100gb data with bt mobile but the swapped me to ee contract ..☹️ never ran out of data with bt mobile but past 2 months running out of data(100gb) nothing has changed on phone or how phone is used...one day used 27gb and ee helpline said it was YouTube...but I don't use YouTube much..(think I'd have to be on it all day non stop to use that much)

Hi @Alan012,
Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂
Could you have accidentally left YouTube playing in the background on auto play?
Have you
James

Apple & Android phones have a data counter menu option that breaks data usage down into individual functions & apps.
The answer to most "what is using my data" queries lies in checking this menu.

I just moved from O2 to EE. I was on 2gb/m on O2. On EE I've signed up to the 5gb package.
Within 5 days I've received "you have used 80% of your data allowance" message. 5 days!
When I was on O2 I never reached my 2gb in a month. I use WiFi at home and at work. So the only time I would use mobile data would be during my drive home or if I go out with my friends maybe 2 times a month.
It does not make sense that I've used 4gb of data within 5 days of signing up with EE.
I now turn my mobile data off and will have to manually turn it on every time I want to use it, this will be a horrible situation to get used to each and every time I want to use my phone when I'm not home.
I'm using the same phone as I had before on O2. I've checked WiFi signal in every room and I get wireless reception perfectly fine. There is something different or wrong with the way EE calculates it's data.

That's not a thing, when you come out of an app it stops, or pauses until you return to it.

There's a possibility that increased data usage on EE cf O2, could be a result of better overall data service.
Thus more usage being possible without realising.

Someone had activated a SIM that was associated to me, that I had never received...It was either an EE employee who did it or they sent my SIM to someone else.
I finally got a very helpful staff member in their investigation team to clarify and sort it.. The person using "my" SIM was on all sorts of sites at ungodly hours.
I got all my data back...Data that was being used before I'd even received and activated what I was told was a replacement SIM that I'd never requested.
Hence why I think it was an EE employee up to no good....it won't have been an isolated case!!
