My mobile data isn't working

It says on the website that I have all of my mobile data available but when I turn mobile data on it doesn't work. Anyone know why?

Hi,

Ive just changed from BT to EE. I transferred my old BT number to EE as well and I’m doing a pay as you go allowance. Everything is working fine (texts etc) except from my mobile data. My 4G turns on and shows in the top right corner but when I go to use it, it doesn’t actually work and i’m unable to connect to anything. I’m using an iphone 11 pro max. any advice??? Thanks

Have you restarted your phone since your number transfer completed?

If you go to Settings > General > About, are there any carrier settings updates available?

Hi,

there doesn’t seem to be any updates available but it does say ‘network provider locked’. Could this be something to do with it?

Hi @elliemaech,

If your handset is locked to BT you may need to contact them to unlock it.

Just to check, is your phone definitley working for calls and texts? (Not including iMessage, WhatsApp etc. which can be sent over WiFi)

Hi,

I just contacted BT and they said my SIM is locked to EE as i’ve now put the EE SIM in and that you can sort this.

Ive just double checked and nothing is working without wifi (texts,phone calls) etc

Call BT on 0800 800 150 and ask them to unlock your phone. How old is your phone? All phones after 2021 should be unlocked anyway.

Hi,

Ive called BT and they’ve said that because I now have the EE SIM in my phone, you should be able to unlock it for me. They cant do anything now as I no longer am with BT.

Did you purchase your phone direct from BT? Was it before December 2021?
