When i connect my phone hotspot to my laptop, I get a prompt saying “can’t connect to this network”. My laptop accepts though other phone hotspots. Any tips?

Could be a number of reasons, but these are the things I would try first.

1. Check and see if the Password is correct, and have you renamed the Hotspot to something simular or the same as another Hotspot, ie another Phone, if so name it uniquely and try again.

2. Check and change the Hotspot for 2.4ghz rather than 5ghz.

3. Check the Security type on the Hotspot, WPA2 is normally standard these days for Hotspots, you can also cross reference this on the Other Hotspot Devices in order to compare, also as a Test ONLY you can set this to None (as in No Password) and see if it connects.

4. If your Lappy is Windows,  check with Windows Connection Setting that your Connection allows you to connect to a Metered Connection.
