How to remove 100M cap from PAYM SIM?

Just wondered if it's possible to upgrade a capped 100M PAYM SIM to not have a cap?

Although in MyEE it says 'best speeds, no cap' I'm clearly capped at 100M. Seems pretty pointless having 5G and the associated shorter battery life with a 100M cap where I can get better performance and longer battery life on setting my phone to downngrade itself and use LTE-A instead.

Hi @wmj  As @Chris_B  says, what does the email say, as that will show what you have agreed to?

@wmj   That’s your account and like mine I bet yours is wrong also.       What about your email as that states what your tariff is.    And like I said that’s an essential plan so that is a max speed of 100Meg.   Your account can show the wrong information it doesn’t mean you’re entitled to that.  Your contract and what you agreed to are what you are entitled to.

@wmj   This is from the T&Cs of your contract

“Speeds
No Frills plans give you access to speeds capped at 25Mbps in the UK. Essentials plans give you access to speeds capped at 100Mbps in the UK. Essentials Unlimited Max, All Rounder and Full Works/Full Works for iPhone speeds give you uncapped speeds in the UK. The speeds you achieve will also depend on a number of factors including: your location, the device you are using and geographic factors such as tree coverage and population density. If you are using your phone indoors, the materials of the building you’re in may also affect mobile internet speeds.”

and as seen with your image your on an essential plan. = 100Meg speed.

Thanks for the info.

Sounds like the max speed is just wrong in my MyEE?

So, are you tied to a speed for a contract length or can you upgrade? Believe I have 12 months but MyEE just gives me an upgrade date of blank.

I had the same issue when I upgraded one of my lines.

I was on a 'max speed' but then was mis-sold (in my opinion) a speed limited plan. Online it showed as a max speed but the speed wouldn't exceed 117Mbps whereas my other line was hitting 300Mbps. Called up and was promised it would be changed to a max speed (for an extra £5 a month!)

@wmj   If it’s a date of blank then you can upgrade.  Silly question but what can you not do with 100meg speed that requires it to be faster..    this must have the fastest speed possible is a load of rubbish and the majority of this just comes down to bragging rights on how fast your speed is.   I’ve just moved from unlimited speeds to 100meg and I don’t notice the difference.    My home broadband is is 70-75meg and that streams perfectly and my phone is faster still.

And this 5G is a battery drainer well that’s just how 4G was when it was launched but that seems to be forgotten now.  I even remember 3G being the same.
