I have an iPhone and an iPad and my iPad can’t connect to my phones hotpost and I’m convinced this is to do with EE.
I can connect my laptop to my IPhone, it’s just the iPad I can’t.
I have used a travel sim in my iPhone before and then I could connect to the iPad so I know it’s EE related.
I’ve done all the standard stuff, togged on/off airplane mode, restarted devices and reset network settings but just won’t connect. It can see the hotspot but just fails to connect. I even tried to connect with Bluetooth and same issue.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Welcome to the Community, @Ajbajb98
This is definitely a strange one, and I can't think of any immediate reason the iPad specifically wouldn't work via hotspot on our network.
I have an iPad myself and never faced any issues using the personal hotspot from my EE connection.
If you haven't already, I'd recommend checking out Apple's troubleshooting page on this.

Hi,
yes I am UK and a pay monthly customer, as I say I can hotspot my laptop with no issue. Just the iPad, I don’t believe it’s an Apple issue, I can connect to iPad using a friends iPhone who is on Vodafone.
And I can connect from my phone if using a sim abroad, it’s just the EE sim that always fails to connect?
entered password correct.

Hi, this is clearly an EE issue. I’m experiencing exactly the same problem when trying to connect my camera for work.
As soon as a device connects to the hotspot, it immediately switches off, making tethering unusable with my Mac, iPad, or camera.
I tested with an eSIM from another provider and everything worked perfectly, so this is not a phone or hardware issue — it appears to be specific to EE.
I’ve spent many hours speaking with EE customer services and technical support without any resolution.
At this point, my recommendation would be to try another provider unless EE can provide a clear explanation and fix for the issue.

I totally agree. This issue of the iPad not connecting to hotspots is specific to the EE network and not an iPad issue. I’ve also tried another network sim and everything connects to hotspots from the iPad with no trouble. I can also connect my iPhone to a hotspot with no problem it’s just my iPad. This needs to be sorted out soon as I use my iPad for work.
