brand new 5g mobile hub and I'm struggling with power

Hi all, sorry for what is probably a stupid question.

 

I have a new hub today and followed the steps up to plugging in the USB from my laptop to the hub. The Green power light is on and solid green when plugged in and the lights on top are flashing green. However, as soon as I unplug it all the lights go off and no pressing of the power button makes a difference.

 

Is this just because it hasn't charged enough or have I done something else wrong? I only have a USB port to charge from at the moment.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

@jamlover55  How long has it been plugged in for ?    The battery should have sone charge in it when you get it but batteries don’t hold a charge for long long periods of time they do deplete.

Only an hour or so when I posted. I’ve been brave and left it for a while and will check later tonight. I’m also near an EE store so if I’m struggling tomorrow I might take It down to them to see if there are any issues.

I would have expected some charge to be on battery but I’m crossing my fingers.
