Purchase Data for our Camera Data Sim

Hi there

We have bought an EE data sim for our Scout HQ security camera, and will shortly need to top-up the data allowance. We have a phone number for the Sim but unfortunately when trying to register on My EE, we only get as far as a message saying:

We now know this is a 4GEE WiFi number

(Yep... 4GEE WiFi is what we call mobile broadband)

To finish setting up your account:

  • Grab your 4GEE WiFi device
  • Connect it to your tablet, phone or laptop
  • Log in and continue

We tried the Sim in an IPAD but didn't get any further.

Is it possible to buy data for our sim - every link Ive tried takes me back to the same message....?

With thanks for your help - cheers John.

@1sthorringer Connect your device to the iPad via Wi-Fi you then login as an admin user to the router via a web browser and you can read the text message that is sent to the device.    Do you have the white EE 4G router?  If you do open up the back cover and on the back of that cover you’ll see a IP address use that on a web browser when connected to the router and there is also a admin password you’ll then that also.

The iPad can not receive text messages.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

@1sthorringer : MyEE doesn't work for registering PAYG MBB devices or at least those with data SIMs. It stops at telling you to connect your device & login to it, but when you've done as instructed it doesn't have anywhere for you to say you've done it.

You may continue using your device but you just can't register it to MyEE.

  1. Use Fast Top Up online with a UK bank card. You don't need to login or register anything. All you need is your mobile no.
  2. Go to http://add-on.ee.co.uk/status from the device will tell you your usage.
  3. Go to http://add-on.ee.co.uk/purchase from the device to buy add-ons.

These should still work.
