Netgear MR5200 connection issues

Lauraharrison1

Hi all,

My Netgear MR5200 has stopped working and now displays the message ‘Mobile Broadband disconnected’. I have 2 EE SIM cards and have tried both in the device but still won’t connect. Both the SIM cards work fine in my phone so it must be something with the device settings.

I have checked it’s the right APN network it’s connected to l, and have fiddled around with some of the APN settings, all haven’t worked. I’ve  done a factory reset but it still doesn’t work.

any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Hi @Lauraharrison1

Welcome to the community.

Is it these APN settings that you've entered?
Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the reply!

yep those are the APN settings that are being used at the moment.

I’ve tried changing various APN settings but to no avail.

There is normally a setting within Netgear Mobile Routers that allow you you to discount the Radio Modem Connection but still run the Router for normal Local Device use, this setting can sometimes default to Off, especially when swapping Sim Cards.

I don't have a Netgear Router or any documentation now and all this was from a few year back but from memory it was a Setting called something like Cellular or Cellular Data Connection (On / Off), this Setting (its in there somewhere) should be available in the Admin Web UI or any of the Netgear Apps.

If the above doesn't help there is also another setting for Domestic Data setting which allows you to switch between Cell Modem Data or Internal Domestic Data ie, Broadband etc, but my money would be on the setting above.
