Swapped my BT landline mobile on a Smart Hub for an EE 4G mobile broadband using an EE dongle. Everything working fine including my internet radio. However, the latter will not connect to any BBC stations. All other stations seem OK. Googling for solutions, a common one seems to be the Shoutcast cessation by BBC a few months back. This can't be the problem as I can still switch back to my BT router (service still active for another day or two) and all the BBC stations connect fine. Tried various solutions: Making the internet radio (a John Lewis Octave) a fixed IP; Changing the EE broadcast channel to the same as the BT one uses; connecting to a wifi extender; None of these work. The Internet radio doesn't have an ethernet port so I can't try that. Anyone else come across this? Thanks.
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Hi @smithpj,
Welcome to the EE Community
I am not quite sure of the specifics on this problem but there are a couple of things I can recommend checking. It is unlikely to be the content lock blocking it, but that is the only real block on specific content so worth checking its set to off. You can check in your online account to disable it. In the past when the 4G router is having issues connecting to specific services some users have found success setting up an IPV4 profile. You can do that by logging in to the admin page at 192.168.1.1 and going to Settings>Setup> Profile management to create a new one. Worth a try to see if it resolves your issue.

More Info: After more searching, I discovered my radio will take custom stream URLs so I found the latest BBC DASH and HLS ones and added them in (via airable.fm) but they still don't work. The URLs test fine on a desktop computer using VLC media player. Also, two random non-BBC URLs work fine on the internet radio. It's as if the BBC stations are blocked somehow by the new EE dongle or at least a setting somewhere is preventing so.

Hi Alex_H and thanks for your suggestions. I checked the parental controls and these were set to the middle (moderate) setting so I changed them to the 'off' setting. This itself didn't solve the problem. However, I then created an IPV4 profile as per your second suggestion and that has solved the issue. I can't thank you enough for your help. I was very frustrated but now have all my radio stations back! Many thanks again. Hope this will help any others experiencing the same thing.
