Huawei mobile router

Hi All,

Just joined the forum after getting my first EE SIM. I have a Huawei E5576-320 mobile router which I use in my caravan successfully on O2. I changed to an EE SIM as it seemed to be a good deal cheaper. Try as I may I cannot get this to work. Can someoene advise if it should work and some pointers at where i'm going wrong. The SIM packet says to activate the SIM send an email to support@speakeasytelecom.com with mobile number and Amazon order number from SIM purchase. Keep getting a bounce back saying email address does not exist.

Kindest Regards

Pete

Good Morning ,

Update on my problem: After leaving a message to the seller via my Amazon account I had a few emails including some emails from SP Telecom ( support@speakeasytelecom.com ) to say they are sorry for any inconvenience and they would activate my sim. They asked if I was able to configure my APN settings if required to which I replied yes. I then received a final email stating my sim had been activated. I popped the sim into the Huawei mobile router powered it up and reset my personal laptop to use the the mobile router and all was working after a couple of mins. Good speed & good continuity of connection. Sorted!

I also checked my work laptop comms via the mobile router and all is good to WFH should my BT router drop. This happens frequently leaving me without wifi even though I have a hybrid system with a backup EE device which is supposed to kick in and keep the wifi going via 4G. However thats another story but if anyone is interested let me know.

Have added another pic from my Amazon order for the EE sim which may be of interest.

Finally BIG thanks XRaySpeX  &  Leanne_T for taking the time to ssist me with my issue.

Kind Regards

Pete

If you bought an EE SIM you should not be sending emails to or doing anything else with speakeasytelecom.com . It's nowt to with EE. Makes me wonder just what it is you bought.

Hi @nabee

Thanks for coming here.

Is the device unlocked for any network?

Are you able to try the SIM in an EE phone to see if a signal shows, if so, can you text BALANCE to 150 and let me know the reply?

Leanne.

Hi Leanne_T,

Unfortunately I have no unlocked or EE phone to try it out. I spoke with EE Tech support earlier today and mentioned that the SIM instruction info stated to activate I needed to send an email to support@speakeasytelecom.com and that my email kept bouncing back with info that the email address was not available. They said to inform Amazon of this and arrange a return / refund as there is something wrong with the SIM as it should work in my Huawei mobile router without issue. Am really gutted after seeing this item had such good reviews. I have run O2 SIMS previously in the router without any issues.

Kind Regards

Pete

Hi Leanne_T,

Sorry the Huawei mobile router is open to all Networks.  Has worked with several I have tried. Mostly O2 as they showed ver good signal strength in the areas I visit and live.

Kind Regards

Pete

Text BALANCE to 150 from your mobile router.

Let's see the SIM packaging mentioning sending a text to support@speakeasytelecom.com ?
