After not receiving a competitive price for a new data only sim I have cancelled and purchased a gig gaff sim.
I have updated the apn settings in the ee router settings to giffgaffs apn.
however am still unable to connect to internet. The settings menu isn’t detailed - only asked for UN, PW and ipv4 setting option.
I have completed this but still does not select and work.
any ideas ? Could the router be locked ?

Your Router could be Network Locked (although if it is it normally asks for an Unlock Code when you put another Network Sim in other than EE,
It could also be that the Router is Unlocked but has Firmware Restrictions to make changes to Profiles / APN.
One thing you could try is to Create a New Profile ratther than try and change your existing one, set the New Profile with the GiffGaff APN settings and then save the Profile to say someting like O2 GiffGaff, then set or Save the New Profile as the Defaults Profile within settings, Reboot the Router and se if the Changes have taken effect.
