Spotify Connect / Tidal Conenct issue

Just moved over to Home Broadband from 4G broadband and been sent a Smart Hub SH30A.   I use a Cambridge Audio CXN V2 streamer as part of my setup.

I have noticed that if the streamer is connected to any LAN port on the router and my tablet is connected to the Wi-Fi from the router, I cannot connect to Tidal Connect or Spotify Connect. If both devices are connected via Wi-Fi, then everything works OK.  If I connect both the streamer and the router to an unmanaged switch (Netgear GS305) using the wired LAN, then this also works OK.

When the streamer is connected to the router without the switch, I can stream radio without any issues.

I am suspecting something in the firmware of the router the way it routes traffic to/from the Wi-Fi to the LAN ports.  Has anyone had a similar issue ?

I never had an issue with the 4G broadband with using a Huawei B311-221 router, and still don't if I connect it back up as it was.

Thanks in advance !

@Chrisbee1961 The EE Smarthub+ has a connection delay on EVERY ethernet port off +20 seconds before opening up the port, where the switch connected always keeps the port open, as you find that everything operates ok when switch attached then that maybe the only option that you have, so keep it attached.

Thanks for your reply @JimM11 .  That is my thinking too in keeping the switch.  I was thinking of possibly getting a secondhand EE Bright Box 2 to try and see if this works any better.  I see these are available at little cost on eBay.

@Chrisbee1961 Believe that the BT Smarthub2 also works well, and as a wifi 5 device not that far away speed wise, also covers landline if you have.

Why a BrightBox2? It only has 1 1 Gig LAN port. The rest are 100 Meg.

Thanks @JimM11 .  That gives me a few options to try

100 Meg is more than enough for what I need with my small network.  Thanks @XRaySpeX

That's fine! Me too! I just have the 1 Gig LAN port for my PC & the other 100 Meg ports unused.
