Local EE store advised contacting EE Tech to arrange for an external antennae to be fitted to improve signal. After 1hr of telephone conversation, diagnostic checks etc, following contacting customer services number given I was advised there is no such external antennae for routers only broadband users and also that not having a solid, static aqua blue light when the router is in operation is not a fault. Whilst I can access the internet I cannot get the apps on my smart Samsung T.V to work and the local EE store advised a signal booster was required. Does anyone know how to boost the signal?

@Marion1967 So there is nothing wrong with the EE router as you can do everything else, the problem is getting the samsung TV to work, external antenna will not solve that issue.

@Marion1967 Will take a look at my samsung TV network settings tomorrow to see if i can see anything TV wise, connected just now via wi-fi but home broadband. Will get back once i have had a look.

You could be right however I suspect it might be the router i.e. signal strength because when the tv is connected wirelessly via my mobile phone (tethered) the apps all work well so doesn’t look like it’s the tv at fault

@Marion1967 With the samsung TV i have, 2 choices wired/wireless, select the wired network, connect the cable and let the TV do its thing. Wirless is similar, find the SSID that the router is transmitting, enter the password and watch it connect.

Thanks for that Jim.
I’ve tried wired network before and tv said it was connected to the network but not the internet so that didn’t work.
How would I find the SSID for the router that you wrote about? If I have that I’ll try connecting wirelessly when I’m back home on Tuesday. 😊

@Marion1967 That is the name of your wifi, will be marked on the router somewhere, along with its wi-fi password, and the TV will show names of all networks that it see's location wise, and you just select your name, and enter the password.
Same way you set up your phone, laptop etc.

Thanks Jim.
I have a feeling that’s what I’ve done before but will double check once I’m home later. Appreciate your help 👍😊

That’s incorrect, there is an antenna port, also it is a hub not a router
