EE71-2BE8GB3 admin help needed

I have just bought myself a new drone and want to use my old EE71-2BE8GB3 to connect to it when out on the North Yorkshire Moors

As it's a few years old I've gone and forgotten the admin password for it - is there a way to reset this unit back to factory default settings?

Do I have to get it unlooked for 'others' sims as I don't yet know who's sim card I'm going to use in it.

Thanks for your help

@SpeedySalsar2 : When you remove the battery cover there is a Reset button at the top of the battery that you can hold down for 10 secs or so to Factory Reset it.

When did you buy it?

Thanks for your reply but sorry there is no reset button - just the on/off button on the outside

I didn't buy it, it was gifted to me about 4yrs ago.  I've looked on the EE website and there isn't anything like it available now.

Pity as I get a good Wi-Fi signal out of it, I just wanted to be able to change the SSID and access password on it.

Is there a way to upload photos of these things?

Oh good grief!!!!  I was about to press 'reply' when I saw the reset button - I had been thinking it was a tab that kept the battery in place

The fact that it had an R next to it had been escaping me for months.

I can't thank you enough for your help, you truly are a star

Oh, good! You had me worried as I have 1 here. It's called the 4GEE WiFi Mini.

Thanks! You're welcome 🙂 ! Glad I could be of assistance & trust it is now sorted.

I hope so to but whether my idea of using it as a 4g connection with my drone will work, I don't know!!!

For your info I rang EE for an unlock code and they couldn't find ant trace of this 4GEE Wi-Fi Mini EE71.

I could be wrong but it sounded as if they didn't know what I was talking about.

Anyway, all settings have been updated to what I want but I can't test it until I get my Drone back from DJI.

Again thanks for your help, it was really appreciated.

You can just apply for unlocking by using the Unlocking your device form and giving its IMEI no., which you can find amongst its System Settings. You'll need another network SIM to complete the unlock.

Tried the form -IMEI not recognised.

Tried EE help line - Unable to find IMEI listed.

Tried Google - IMEI not recognised on several search engines/pages.

I've even tried to update the firmware/software(EE71_E1_02.00_38) & I get up-to-date responce.

I've found that the Wi-Fi works, and when I can connect I will just have to accept that either the 4g will work or won't.

Thanks for your time with this but at the end of the day if I find it doesn't work I'll just find a newer Wi-Fi thingy and use that.

Please don't waste anymore of your time on this I really don't think it's worth it.

MMany thanks for all your help with this - you have been of great help to me.
