EE62D Never connecting to EE for a week

Hey guys,

Hoping someone can help before I raise hell with EE themselves.

The EE62D mifi box I have just will not change from the cyan connecting light at all. I've reseated the battery after a few minutes, repositioned the box itself near a window/higher up etc. It was working okish until a week or 2 ago, then got spotty and now nothing for days. I have not changed settings etc in this time.

Luckily I had an old phone handy I could use the SIM with to tether, absolutely no issues I'm using it now, so it must be the box itself?!

Is there anything else I could try that an hour on hold to EE will eventually ask me to do anyway?

Thanks

What sort of SIM has it got within? Contract or PAYG? Data SIM or phone SIM?

When did you previously make a chargeable action with it?

Heya,

Thanks for replying.

It (had) got the original contract data SIM in. I've only been using it since November so 9 months, it received the activation text from EE themselves thats it.

I wouldn't have thought the data only SIM would need continuous action to keep activated?

I haven't made any calls/texts on the tethering phone, yet still works.

Are you still paying regular monthly fees for the SIM?

I'm puzzled by "the tethering phone". What is it? Is it the phone you use connected by WiFi to the router to get data / browse the Net? In what way is it still working?

I put the SIM in an old OnePlus unlocked phone and setup mobile data tethering to my house. It's actually faster than speeds I got with the ee62d.

Yes I'm still paying, not sure why I bothered with a mifi box at all right now though.

Hi @UsernameX.

Welcome to the EE Community!

If the SIM is working as it should be in the OnePlus phone, this would definitely point towards an issue with the device rather than the SIM or connection.

Have you tried a reset on it by pressing the small pinhole reset button on the back?
