I can see an EE wifi in my network list and can connect and see the log-in/pay-wall., I have EE WiFi-Auto configured jn my network list BUT it does not appear as an available wifi network to select - why?

Not right now. But when I have the issue I am. I can see an EE wifi available with full strength, I can access that and get to the pay-wall/login (but I don't have a BB account, so can't login that way).
But I understood that by configuring the wifi auto access that I would be able to use the EE wifi as a hotspot.

@nsskinner EE WiFi is free for New EE Broadband or BT Broadband customers, which you would login to using your EEID, the e-mail and password you login to the app or website to manage your account with.
If you are not a New EE or BT broadband customer then in order to use the EE WiFi it would require purchasing access. You can read more on the EE WiFi help pages here Help & advice | Find WiFi hotspots | EE WiFi
EE WiFi Auto is the network name for our London Underground WiFi network which is available to all our mobile customers.

Hi Alex,
That's really helpful, but can I please clarify... I am a UW mobile customer recently joined and they use the EE network with an EE SIM that includes the EEID auto connection profile on the SIM (according to the bits of the SIM data my phone can read). But my iPhone simply refuses to connect to the EE WiFi at stations, and the EE 5G signal in some tunnels is non-existent (even though I can see there are O2 and 3-UK 5G signals there).
Is there any sort of known issue or workaround for this? I've found a number of comments in the community about iPhones being problematic with the station WiFi on EE. Also I have tried UW support, but they're unable to assist with EE connection issues like this, they're more account focussed.
Thanks in advance.

HI @TRT1968
You may be trying o connect to our WiFi Coverage Boost service. EE pay monthly customers with a WiFi-enabled device can connect at 150,000 hotspot locations across the UK and use WiFi on the London Underground.
This is different service from our EE Public WiFi hotspots service.
For iOS devices, make sure you have iOS 13 or above installed. Then switch on your WiFi - you'll then automatically connect to EE WiFi.
You can find out more on our Using WiFi Coverage Boost page.

I think it is the WiFi Coverage Boost, as the SSID is EE WiFi-Auto as detailed in the linked article. But my iPhone just keeps saying "Cannot connect", whether it's set to auto join or if I attempt to connect by tapping that network name. I can confirm I am on iOS 18.4.1 on an iPhone SE3, with WiFi enabled.

I did try from inside a Tube station. I could see the network on the found networks list.

Thanks @TRT1968
As your service is through Utility Warehouse, it would be best to contact them directly for help with any services that may be available to you.
Although they use the EE network, they may offer different products and services, as well as support for connecting to any services using their systems.
