EE Smart 4G Hub

Hi,hopefully someone might have the answer to this.

I bought this hub from EE shop about Jan 25,it works ok but i have to re-boot it every single day without fail.

It is driving me nuts,hope someone can help.

Well they are returning it,but they have not left it running for a few nights to see the problem.

They could not find the problem & they won`t without running it for a few nights which they have not done,what a waste of my time & effort.

Also the other problem i have with the router now is i can`t sign into it.

So my own password does not work with it,the password that is on the bottom of the router does not work either so i can`t get in to change anything.

I have tried re-setting it & using the the sign in info that is on the bottom of the router,it just keeps saying wrong password,so where does that leave me now,this just beyond a joke now!

Is it the connection key that doesn't seem to be working here, the admin password, or both?

What's the exact model of 4G Hub that you're using here, too? 

Feel free to post a pic if you're not 100% sure.

When you mention resetting this, have you done a full factory reset on the device using the small pinhole button at the back of the Hub?

This should flash green after 5 seconds, and return any passwords to their defaults, matching the details printed on the base.

Yes i should be an expert on this by now,another strange thing the repair centre left it with.

Guest Wifi Disabled,but they have obviously changed my original log in password.

Yes i have tried loads of different times typing in the ones on the bottom of the router.

I feel i have been sold a dud from the EE shop on our high street which cost me £100.

 just bought this at the end of Jan 2025 a couple of days later i tried to return it to the shop as i was not happy with how it was working but they refused me a refund.

Thanks for that but i am just fed up wasting my time with EE & getting nowhere i really have more important things to do with my time,i have learned my lesson staying with EE,cheers.

I phoned the people who looked at my router at the repair center,but they don`t know very much either.

I just had a look in my pc Advanced Network Settings this DHCP lease thing doesn`t seem right.

As it says DHCP Lease obtained 23 July 2025 07.27am

DHCP lease expires 24th July 2025 07.27am

I just restarted my 4G Smart router this morning,is this why it is going down every day & how do i fix it.

A common default lease time is 24 hours, but it can vary depending on the DHCP server's configuration. Devices typically try to renew their lease before it expires, often around the halfway point (e.g., after 12 hours for a 24-hour lease). 

Have you had any opportunity to test your 4G WIFI router away from your home location at all? 

When you contacted the technical team, did they also mention checking your SIM/connection too?
