Hi all,
Looking at replacing my crappy home broadband with 4g and a router.
I already have a TP Link MR6400. I just need a data sim.
Today I spoke to EE and was interested in the 160gb a month 4g/5g phone sim at £20 a month. However, they say you can only use 100gb a month from it as that is what is considered your sharing amount.
They'd like me to choose the data sim 100gb a month for £25.20 or unlimited for £34.20. I can get the same 100gb for £20 a month though from the first option!
What are your thoughts? It annoys me they can't just let you use the data you pay for!

I'm afriad you have been miss informed, The first option will work fine in a 4G Router, the £20 160Gb Phone SIM will work fine in a Router and you will get the Full 160gb of Data use from it.
If your using a 3rd Party 4G Router just make sure it's Network Unlocked and you may have to set up the correct APN Profile for the EE Network, apart from that you good to go.

Thanks for your reply
So the EE Tech guy on the chat was bullshi**ing me?
There seems to be so much conflicting info.

I believe He was getting mixed with Data Gifting. but don't worry about Gifting if your only going to have 1 EE SIM on your Account
It's your Data you can use it how you like, Both EE and Vodafone have never had any restrictions on Contract Sims, what you do and how you use the Sims.

My mobile is on an EE Pay As You Go. Would that make any difference?

@Dowzerr on EE it will fine with PAYG

@Dowzerr : You may put any SIM in any router & use its data to its full extent.
The CS you spoke to was getting mixed up with data gifting to another device but you ain't gifting when you use the SIM's data in a single device. Anyway there's no gifting from PAYG.
