Can't reach certain website on EE 4G router Wifi but Ok on VPN and phone 4G

Hi all, just been on phone to EE tech and they can't help and suggested I try here -

I can't get to a certain website. It's not dodgy, it's my running club website. So when I'm on the house Wifi which is an EE 4G router I can get to any other site no problem but not this particular website. However if I VPN I can access it. I can also access it on my Samsung Gal 22+ on mobile data which is through O2. I tried disabling IP and Domain name filters on the router which did not help. I also tried White-listing the site on the Domain filter on the router which also did not help. I've rebooted the router as well. I've also tried Chrome, Edge and Firefox but same issue on all browsers. I also tried using Google as a DNS server.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Ayron

It could be your Switching Content Lock OFF or ON . It is switched on on new & upgraded contracts & seems to affect social sites. If just switching it OFF doesn't help, try switching it to STRICT, reboot your device and then switching it to OFF. That is seeming to do the trick.

Hi @ayronc,

What happens when you try to load the website?

Do you see a particular error message?

I am also experiencing a similar issue, which game servers can’t be reached nor can I connect to my work’s VPN service. All of these things were working last week.

Is there a resolution?

Hi, did you find a solution? I’m having the same issue and it’s only started these last few days, so frustrating!

Hi @caz813

Welcome to the community.

Have you tried changing your parental controls in your My EE account?

How do I turn on parental controls on my device? | Help | EE

Chris

Hi, yes I’ve checked my parental controls… I thought it was my laptop, but it does the same on my daughters too…. Oddly I can access the page on my phone through the wifi though…. I’ve spent 2 days googling and trying to find the answer, but everything I’ve tried hasn’t worked. Never had an issue like this before
