Can't Link Device in EE Account

Hello, I have looked for assorted solutions, but I have my first 4G WiFi dongle to get online via laptop, but in order to remove the automatically applied moderate content block, I need to access EE, but after logging in and reaching the "Good Morning, Link your device" page, and I click the Mobile Broadband option, the only two sets of "account" numbers that I have—one on the delivery sheet that came with the dongle, and the other the one that appears on the EE Status page, showing how much of my monthly allowance has been used, each account  number is not only different, but is longer than the 9 digit number that is allowed in the device box! I don't have a monthly bill letter yet, as the dongle is brand new, so maybe that will have another account number on it that will work, but if anyone can suggest any ideas I will be grateful.

Did you read the validation text they sent it & enter its OTP into your MyEE?

The 11-digit '07' no. is not an a/c no. but a mobile no.

The partial A/c No. you see is the a/c no. of your whole MyEE a/c., not of any particular device. You are on a pay monthly contract?

That "Your account" number on the status page beigns with 07, so presumably this relates to the SIM that EE gave to me to put into the laptop dongle, and using that, and the 4 digit passcode they sent to me, I reached the final step as shown in the image on page 1. I am wondering if the account numvber in that box is my actual account number, which will be shown on my first bill letter a month from now.

Well, I took the plunge and linked the device, and was asked if I pay the bills for that 07.... number, and it worked fine! So now I can see lots of options and details about my account, and just need to find where the content blocking option are to get them removed.

Well done! You finally got there.

Thank you, yes!.Glad I had the help here explaining about the 07 account number actually being the dongle  SIM's number, and I've learned that  pasting a number in wouldn't input all of the digits, whereas manually typing them did. I would never have imagined that happening. No wonder I was held up even with that stage!

Pasting should work but your copy probably picked up some spaces. You need to be very exact when highlighting, particularly on a mobile.

Thanks! You're welcome 🙂 ! Glad I could be of assistance & trust it is now sorted.

OIC! Now that I've replaced my out-of-date SIM in my mobile router I see that the add-on status page wrongly calls the SIM's mobile no. as an A/c no.

Yes, it seems a bit confused the way the numbers are allocated. I had one account number listed on the paperwork that arrived with the 4G dongle, the SIM account number, and my actual EE customer account number, which is also different to the one on the dongle paperwork.
Speaking of 4G, it's been great so far, but there are some negative issues I didn't expect, which weren't happening with my 3G dongle right until the moment it was ended and I had to upgrade to 4G. One is the impossibility of using uTorrent, even for legitimate files, as the sites I got them from are blocked. The other issue, is that for some reason my IDM—Internet Download Manager—now can't even download simple PDFs or other files from legitimate sites; it just fails to access the files to begin the download. Very strange and I'm trying to solve it. A similar download manager also fails in this way., and the old right-click and "Save link as" browser method has to be used. It will be a chore for multiple files downloads.

That's an excellent point which I failed to consider!
