5g router options

I'm looking into getting 5g router as theres no broadband in my area. I want a pay as you go sort of deal and definitely under the hefty £45/month price of the EE packages. Is it possible to buy an unlocked EE 5g device on ebay and then use that with an EE-network based pay as you go 5g sim (probably lyca mobile / BT mobile as is cheap and on EE network so should work I assume?) I have seen from other community posts that EE 5g sims dont work in third party routers which is why im thinking of this option, is this true?

Thanks!

@drcdrc2004  Provided that device is unlocked to use a different network Sim card.  A MVNO network ( this is what Lyca mobile is ) might use EE but it doesn’t mean that network sim will work in an EE device until it’s network unlocked.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.
