I am just about to upgrade from 4G to 5G mobile broadband. I currently have a 4G Huawei and external antenna. The new EE router does not have antenna connections so I am faced with two options 1) EE internal router and hope signal is strong enough 2) buy a new router to go with the EE SIM. I suspect option 2 is the way forward, but I then have the issue of which router and antenna to buy. I think I may go for 1) and test it for 14 days and then return if inadequate (which I think it would be), but I will end up with 2), so just need to decide on router and antenna. I have tried speaking to EE on-line, phone, store, all very pleasant, but no helpful advice unfortunately. Any advice welcome please. Thanks

Hey there @cpellis, welcome to the EE Community 😊
I think you've got a pretty good plan laid out here; if you were to upgrade and give one of the new 5G routers a try, you have 14 days to change your mind with this.
If it wasn't quite right, you could then send this back to us, and we'll reverse the upgrade on your account.
If you were to go down this option, you could then switch to a data only SIM and purchase a separate router that supports an external aerial.
We do have a few options for third party mobile routers you can purchase outright over on the EE Store too.

Thank you very much Peter. I just got the new 5G router and will see how it goes. Unfortunately, the 3rd party EE store routers do not seem to have the option of adding an antenna.

Thanks @cpellis, fingers crossed this should hit the right mark!
Please keep us posted on how you get on too.
