Xbox Series X warranty

Hey, I bought the Series X plus gamepass bundle from EE (2 year term) no more than 18 months ago, console is faulty already and needs repair/replacement.
Question is, where does the responsibility on this lie?
Microsoft refuse to help as they say it is out of warranty, however, I was led to believe when I bought this that the console was covered for the duration of the 2 year contract term with EE?
Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

@boingboing1982 Warranty isn’t extended because your paying for it over 2 years. Your home insurance might cover this
