Forza Horizon 6 – What are you most looking forward to?

Hey everyone!

Forza Horizon 6 is landing on Xbox Series X|S and PC on 19 May 2026, and I'm curious to hear what you're all most excited about. Japan has been one of the most requested locations for years, so it feels like this could be something special for racing fans.  What's caught your eye?

A few things I'm wondering about:

  • What's got you most hyped? Is it the Japan setting, the car list, or something else entirely?
  • How do you reckon it'll compare to Forza Horizon 5? Mexico was stunning and massive, but will Japan's mix of neon-lit Tokyo streets, mountain passes, and rural landscapes feel more alive and varied? The 550 cars at launch is comparable to FH5, but the focus on Japanese car culture and kei cars could give it a different flavour.
  • Will it raise the bar for the series? Forza Horizon 5 set a high standard with its visuals and variety. With new features like cooperative building and the seasonal system that actually changes gameplay (not just visuals), could this be the best Horizon yet?
  • How might it stack up against the competition? Gran Turismo has always been strong on track racing, but Horizon's open-world festival vibe is unique. Do you think the Japan setting gives it an edge, or will it depend on how the game actually plays?
  • Any concerns or hopes? Anything you're hoping they improve from previous games, or features you'd love to see?

Whether you're planning to jump in on day one or waiting to see how it turns out, drop your thoughts below. Always great to hear what the community's thinking ahead of a big release like this. Looking forward to hearing your predictions!

Honestly, I am just excited to play a new game in the Horizon series!

I'm not much of a fan of the traditional track racing games, but Forza Horizon has the perfect format for Hardcore Car fanatics AND casual Racing Game fans to be able to enjoy IMO. Like, I won't spend much time in car tuning, or making decals, but I will absolutely be flying around the open world with some online buddies having some casual fast fun

I tend to play the base game via GamePass, but purchase the VIP upgrade - Which I think is £59.99 this time! Possibly a little steeply priced compared to previously... but I know I will have a good time with it for HOURS upon HOURS so £60 for a game, all DLC's and all of the extra "wheel spins" etc that is get's you seems like a pretty good deal if you ask me

I've never really got past Burnout or Mario Kart as my racing games of choice but the map looks pretty cool: https://x.com/ForzaHorizon/status/2041803476070523044?ref_url= , would have liked to have seen more mountain track.

Also saw this graphics comparison: Someone did a graphics comparison Gran Turismo 7 vs Forza Horizon 6. Thoughts? : r/GameBoostOfficial, seems to stack up pretty nicely. Despite Gran Turismo being a few years older.

I think the contrast between the streets of Tokyo and the mountain sections will make for a really varied experience. Can't wait!

I just need to get back to Mexico to tick off some more achievements first!

Also curious - what’s the first car you’re planning to take out onto the Tokyo streets?
