Mac Mini Usable 20% Usable, though has been unused until last 6 weeks
Switch 1 Seemingly stable rarely used
Switch liteSeemingly stable rarely used
Xbox OneZero
Hp PrinterRarely used, always needs a restart of router to use
Recently tried an Apple TV and worked for about 5 mins, couldn’t use it after.
Disconnected for simplicity several Tapo smart plug sockets, Amazon Echo devices and chinese brand smart bulbs. Haven’t even tried setting them up.
At installation everything was fine. At some point between Xmas and NY I have not been able to use any Xbox product on my network
At the same time the secondary wifi box also lost connection to the main router. This began working by itself several weeks later, but Wifi signal was not hugely different so lived with it.
The Xboxes will not connect at all via ipv6 or ipv4, though seem to do so now and again in the background as they seem to pick up little bits like fragments of the desktop tiles in the background. One sign is for example Fortnite and Rocket Leagues title tiles that change every 10 days or so seem to stay largely up to date. At one point after many reboots and recycles and tweaks (not sure how) I got them working for about a week, then nothing again. The Xbox cannot resolve a NAT type, sometimes will give a message about DHCP though usually doesn’t get that far. XBox support is full of dead links and circular solutions, though it has mentioned ensuring Teredo settings are correct, but i cannot find them on the router.

This link highlights opening ports but the router will only allow me to open one port. With the xbox so popular why are all theses ports not selectable in a block or open by default.
Even interfacing with the modem via the app or directly with 192.168.1.254 is unstable, either regularly losing the signal or crashing the page. (accessed via phone and chromebook for reference). The EE app regularly reports a device online when it isn’t even in the house or is switched off (properly off not in sleep).
The Hisense Roku TV smart TV has always had a robust connection even when the rest of the network can seem slow at times, still giving 4K steaming over WIFI.
The switch 2 indicates it is connected to via Wifi or ethernet and switches brtween the 2 despite being connected to the ethernet to the secondary box, but remains working most of the time.
Internet speeds tend to be fast if there is a connection but it is a case of if it gets through.
The Mac is unusable, when it is working it is fast then just stops for hours at a time. I may be crazy but it seems Youtube seems to be more robust than anything else, continuing to play even when everything else is spinning wheels.
We have poor signal in my daughters room, i was told in branch (Bath) that this was whole house broadband, I am generally pleased with Wifi signal everywhere else and 4K own the TV while others are using the network, even when the repeater wasn’t working is good enough for me.
Help me Forza Horizon is out next month.
