Hi I have been having the exact same issue, never had a problem with BT but switched to new EE broadband and can't connect the Xbox via ethernet cable and the app doesn't work so can't use the Gaming Mode, which was one of the main reasons we switched over

@enragedbadgerz : EE does not employ CGNAT on fixed Home BB.

Everthing ive read disagrees with that. im being assigned 169.254 addresses on my 2nd and third xbox as EE is using a strange link local nat. ive been re addressing it to a 198. address. i can get three xboxs on moderate but only one can use the chat function. on BT we had no problems. all could use chat(plus p.c and two ps) on open straight away with no port forwarding and with true ipv6.
it seems to me that EE HAVE to be aware of this by now, and the fact they are both bloaming the customers setups while including xbox game pass knowingly not being able to supply a stable open nat is terrible. im only 10 days into my contract so i will be switching back tomoorow. i suggest ANYBODY being told its a port forwarding issue should seek an ombudsmans advive before switching networks to avoid being charged.

@enragedbadgerz : Which EE router have you?
Devices are given a 169.254.. local IP when they fail to get an IP auto assigned to them. I get it but rarely. It is not a sign of CGNAT which results in a 10... external IP.

I'm on the smart hub plus. now I've turned all the other consoles off in the house mines working again. when turned back on, it starts generating 169.254 numbers again. it's driving me CRAZY . I'm also getting the upnp not successful no matter what I do. upnp on or off. I didn't have any of this on B.T. it was literally plug and play

before I cancel tomorrow, I'm going to set static IP addresses for everyone of my consoles/p.c see if that will stop any conflicts although I shouldn't have to do this unless I'm port forwarding. I also factory reset my router and it instantly gave me a 169.254 up address again.

I keep getting the ‘ hueneme negev’ error message. Only happened since moved to EE never occurred with BT.
