Hi, we’ve just moved to EE from Vodafone (long story why!) We supposedly bought a faster speed package but my teenage son said his connection is now much worse than before. His phone disconnects from the WiFi so he’s using all of his data plus his games on his PS5 are lagging with a high ping.
So my question is, does anyone know which would be the cheapest option to sort this please?! He’s giving me a headache haha.
We don’t have an Ethernet cable and even if we did, there’s no way it would reach from the hub in the living room to upstairs.
My ideas were either to have the line and hub put in upstairs instead but nobody seems to be able to help with this so I looked at the Enhancer. I realise this just prioritises where the WiFi goes and doesn’t increase the speed but is that worth a try do you think?
Otherwise, I’m open to any suggestions and advice please!
Thank you 😊

@LadyNala09 Is the router near any other electrical devices? If it is you need to move it away as electrical devices can cause WiFi issues.
You could always purchase power lines. Have a read of THIS about power lines

Hi @LadyNala09
Have you a Gen 1 (non PS5 Pro) PS5?
If so go into the wifi settings and you can choose to connect to 5 GHz only as this will help with the wifi connection as I guarantee it connects at 2.4GHz.
On the PS5 - Settings - Network - Setup Internet Connection - Options and then change WiFi frequency to 5GHz only.
Why is he connecting to his phone and not the router downstairs directly.
Thanks
