I must say I have been very disappointed in the services provided by ee in the past 2 to 3 months. App totally usless and phone service in my area poor. I pay a lot for ee and thinking I'd be better swapping to another company

Sorry to hear you've not had a great experience with EE. I'd recommend calling 150 and chatting to the customer service team who will be able to go through your options.
Have you used the Network Status Checker to check your expected network coverage?
