EE app.. What on EARTH?

What fresh hell is the new EE app? I thought the previous 'upgrade' was a disaster but this is... Oh my lord. How does the app not know what device I have when I log in? Every other version has known this info. Why does it take 5 mins to log in? Who knows. What UI has this been based based on? Nothing like I've ever seen before. Can't do anything on it. Terrible. Who tested this before it went live and thought 'Yep! That's a go!'?

@marktittle   Why does the app need to know what device you are using ?   It makes no difference.     Have you tried clearing your device cache ?   It’s running on your device, so the limitations of your device on how quick it runs depends on your device and what else is running on your device as the app needs ram to operate.    What device is it and have you tried clearing the device cache?

I have just logged into the new app. Works a treat, well done EE. (Although still no two stage authentication).

EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.

Every other update of the app showed the accounts I had now Nothing,

Hey Chris, I've got a Galaxy Fold 4, so there shouldn't be a problem with device limitations. My point is that the app has never asked for this before but now takes me to a screen where I have to link my app and device. Never happened in the several years I've been with EE and used the app. I'm thinking of, as an example, my parents trying to navigate this horrible UX. It's poor design and implementation and I just don't know how a company like EE could send it live.

Is the app working any better this morning? I've tested mine and it loaded up pretty quickly. Thanks for the feedback on the design, I'll feed it back to our My EE team.

Hey Chris, it actually is! I've just tested and it's exhibiting completely different behaviour to yesterday. Has now recognised my device and none of the craziness of the initial log in. Perhaps a bug in the system that can be found to give others a great experience first time.
