I am trying to start a sim only contract with EE, but in the checkout it says I do not have a valid email address and I couldn’t continue with the purchase. After some research online I discovered that I need to add an email address to my EE account. The only problem is when i try to add one it requires me to have a verification code from a non-existent email address as if i already have one. How can I fix this?

Hi @EdwardGilbert.
Welcome back to the EE Community!
Just so I can be sure I've got the right details of what's happening here, am I correct in thinking you're logging in with an email address and password before trying to check out?
Or is it prompting you to do this when you add it and then check out?

Hi Peter,
Yes after being logged in with my email address and password, at the checkout I am receiving an error message that there is a missing email address (and I cannot proceed). I think that what this is referring to is the missing email from my profile? But in attempting to add one, I am met with this request to verify my non-existent email address on my profile, and am met with the error message attached in my previous post.

Thanks @EdwardGilbert.
When it's asking you to verify the email address, is it not sending the details to the address you want to use?
EEIDs offer the option for setting a separate username to the contact email, but these can be the same too.
