App closed for the second night in a row, EE developers are amateurs 😡

What the hell is going on, the app has been down 2 nights  in a row, this is ridiculous beyond belief, like I keep saying I need to use the app to set limits on the devices in the house, it’s not acceptable to be unable to use it when I need to. The developers who maintain this app are useless, you would never catch Amazon or any of the other big companies shutting down for maintenance every night so there must be another way that doesn’t massively inconvenience users, the ee developers are amateurs and need to be replaced by developers who know what they are doing 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡@

I've had nothing but issues since BT offered me this deal to switch to EE as it was (meant to be) the better network. I'm on faster speeds now yet it seems to lag a lot more than being on BT on slower speeds! Worst mistake I made was them saying to go over to EE

@Julie-be   It’s not the app it’s your online account that’s been taken off-line. The app is just a portal to your online account.  EE do account maintance late at night when there is less people wanting to use their account.

The message on the app was the app is closed for last minute maintenance so yes, it was the app out of action yet again, and I tried to get access to my account via the website but it was the same thing, no access. If they want to do work when less people are using the app they should do it in the early hours not at 10pm when people still need to use the app and if the developers don’t like unsociable hours they should get a different job.

@Julie-be , well, of course, as the online account gets updated, so that is why this happens. I actually have never or very rarely checked it at night, personally.

Well that’s you, I obviously don’t know your situation but I am a foster carer of teenage boys. I do have their devices in a group that turns their devices off at 10.30 but during the school holidays they often ask for extra time so I take them out of the group with the intention of turning their WiFi off at 11.30 but as happened last night and the night before, the app was closed so I couldn’t turn their WiFi off at 11.30 which is not ideal as they will be online all night. This is why it’s so frustrating for me. If they would give a warning of closure action could be taken earlier but when you need to use the app and it’s constantly closed, it’s annoying.
They are always closing the app and as I said in my original comment, it’s highly unusual for apps to require constant maintenance like the ee app does!

I totally agree.  that's what it has been happening t us since we joined EE in March, 3 or 4 times already. The funny thing is that we moved because of the parental controls. The ones that cannot be used at night when they are required.

That’s exactly why I am with them. I need those controls to be available when I need them. What they should do is have a planned outage maybe once every 2weeks or so but email customers with advanced warning then it won’t be a problem.

@Julie-be  yes it’s inconvenient when this happens and I totally get where you’re coming from but I also know as a parent who’s daughter is now a parent what I would do in situations like this.
And this was before the invention of WiFi limit controls.     And I’ll not say what you should or could do when this happens as it’s not my place to educate you on your parenting and how you go about that

This is beyond ridiculous now. Why do the  developers need to close the app several times a week right at the time when we need to use it. I actually can’t believe they have closed it again, it’s the third time this week. Are they really that useless that they  have to keep closing the app night after night after night 😳it’s probably to fix the mistakes they made the night before. As I keep saying , no other apps close down most nights for maintenance, companies who value their customers and don’t want to inconvenience them or lose their business,  bear in mind their customers needs,  plan essential maintenance  and give advance warnings of closures to customers, like my bank does, so that it doesn’t affect them but the ee tech guys don’t plan, they just close the app willy nilly, every night if they want to, they couldn’t give a flying **** what customers needs are we are not on the list of ****’s that they give, even though it’s paying customers who keep these companies going, we are so insignificant to them, they clearly don't give us a second thought. Ignore your customers at your peril 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
